Henby Dbiveb (on behalf of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports for the week ending 20th February, as follows :—: — . The weekly market to-day was supplied with 207 head cattle, .12 calves, 1354 sheep, 430 lambs, and 72 pigs. ; Fat '^Cattle.— The large number yarded caused a further reduction iv prices lately quoted, and from 30 to 40 head had to be turned out. Sest bullocks realised up to £12 5s each ; do cows, £9 10s. Keally prime pens brought about 25s per 1001 b, and fair to ordinary quality not more than 22s 6d. We sold on account of Messrs Little Brothers a draught of 30 head at market rates, and have placed outside 100 head. The moderate supply penned caused the trade to bid a little more spiritedly, and all were taken at fully last week's quotations — say from 8a 6d to 11s 6d for best cross-breds, or equal to l|d or 2d per.lb. At the yards and outside we have Bold 750. Fat Lambs. — The supply forward were ail taken by the trade at a shade higher than last. week's rates— say from. 7s to 9s, accord-, ing to weight and quality; We sold 50, and 150 privately for forward delivery. Store Cattle. — This market is without alteration, and as grass paddocks will not improve this season, we do not anticipate a better demand- Really well-conditioned bullocks are saleable in small quantities at £5 10s to £6 10s ; do cows, £3 to £4 10s. Store Sheep. — The numbers offering are quite inadequate to" "meet the demand, and we have purchasers for,any quantity of fair good merinos or 'cross-jbreos at£ say .from ss' tjo 5s 6d j crjoss-bred-h\mbs, ! 6s to 6f §d ; cross-Jwed 2 -tooth, 7a 6d; merino lambs, 5s 6dto6s; 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes, 6s 6d_to 7s; do wethers, 5s 6d to 6s ; full-mouthed ewes at from 3s 6d to 4s 6d ; do wethers, 3s to 4s. During the week at above prices we have sold about 6500. Wool. — We are advised per cable that the London sales were postponed from the 19th to the 26th inst. No cause is assigned. In this market there has been no business doing. Grain. — Wheat : Some small, shipments of new grain have arrived to millers' orders in fair condition. No sales of new reported in this market. Present value of good milling, 4s 6d to 4s 9d; old, 4s to 4i 3d; fowls' wheat, 3s 6d. Oats : Sales of old milling at 3s 6d ; new is wanted, 3s to 3s 3d. Barley for feeding and milling is enquired for at. 3s 3d to 3s 6d; No malting samples offered.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 20th February, as follows : — Fat Cattle.— The large number of 206 head was yarded, which, proved in excess of the trade 8 requirements, as most of them held considerable stocks from last week, consequently prices were much easier. We sold 129 head on account of Messrs James Allan, Hopehill, Thomas Evans, Donald M'Donald, George Wilson, F. Manson, and George Wallace: Bullocks brought from £7 15s to £1010s ; cows, from £6 10s to £8 10s— prices equivalent to 25s per 100 lbs. " Fat Calves. — Twenty were penned, whioh we. sold at from 14s to 32s each. Fat Sheep.— The supply was not a large one ; but as several- of the largest consumers were supplied, prices showed a slight decline on last week's quotations. 1380 were penned, chiefly cross-breds. We Bold on account of Edward Menlove, Esq., 514 cross-breds, at from 9s 6d to 10s } on account of James Allan, Esq., 160 do at from 9s to 10s 3d ; on account of Mr Arthur Colder, 50 do at 9s 6d ; on account of Mr Wm. Duncan, 140 do at Bs. We quote prime mutton at- 2d per lb. Horses.— Heavy draughts and strong upstanding coach and cab horses are enquired for. " At our yard 9on Saturday very few of the former came forward, but a fair propor-' tion of the latter, description changed hands. We quote first-class draughts at from £50 to £55.; mediumj £40 to £45 ;. light do, £25 to £35; good hacks and light harness horses, £25 to £30 ; medium, £12 to £20 j light and inferior, £3 to £10. - : Sheepskins.-r-At our, weekly sale on Monday: we catalogued 1500' skins. There was a full attendance of the trade and fair competition, prices obtained showing an advance on last week's ra"tes. s Station skins sold at from 3s 6d to 5s 10d ; butchers' green pelts, 9d to Is ; lambskins, Is 2d to 2s Id, .- . Hideß'.-r-There is a fair demand for wellconditioned lots, which are. worth . about 4d per lb. We sold 50 medium weight* at from 7s to 183' each; heifer nkins, 7s; to 7s 6d ; calf skins, 2s 3d. " Tallow is in good demand; iprime mutton suitable (for shipment being worth £30 to £32 per ton : mixed, £28 to £29: We sold a few small lots at our sale on Monday.'

• Maclean Bbothbbs report for week end- ' ing 20th February, as follows :— : ' Fat Cattle.— A full supply came forward I for to-day's market. 207 head of good to prime' quality were yarded, but on account of ' the large number to hand the competition, was rather sluggish, and prices low. W e s °ld on account of, Messrs M'Donald,, Wright, and ] otherß, 60 head. Best-bullocks brought from £9.105t0£11. . Medium, £7 to £8 10s- or, equal to 25s per 1001 b. For prime quality and 20s to 22s 6d for medium. Fat Sheep.-— J356 good 'to prime quality were penned, all of which found buyers at fair prices. We sold, on account; of the Henley Company, Jeffreys, Patrick, and others, 600 j at from 8s 9d to 10a 6d, or equal to l£d i per lb.

Fat Lambs. — A moderate supply of these came to hand, viz., 430 of" fair quality, for which there was keen competition, aad good prices were obtained; We sold, on account of Messrs Brown, Behan, and others, 199 at from 8s 6d to 9s 6d. . Store Sheep are still in excellent demand, and prices are if anything firmer, although there is no material change in quotations. During the week we have sold 8500 merinos. We quote cross-bred wethers, four-tooth, at 7s to 7s 6d ; do two tooth, 6s to 6s 9d ; merino wethers, two, four, and six-tooth, 5s 6d to 6s ; do full-mouthed, 3s 6d to 4s 3d; do ewes, two, four, and six-tooth, for run of ' flock, 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; do full mouthed, 3s 6d to 4s ; cross-bred and merino lambs, 5s to 6s. Bams. — During the week we have placed 450 merino rams from Ihe flocks of Messrs Ayson, Johnston, Watt, and others at satisfactory prices.- • ' '
