MINING LEASE APPLICATION. 20th April, 1874., To the Warden at Lawrence. SIR, — I have paid to the District Surveyor the sum required for the survey of the following gold mining lease application, as required by the Mining Leases Regulations of Otago ; and I agree, if my application (the particulars of which are hereunder Bet forth) be investigated, that sucli sum shall in all respects be held subject to the terms of such regulations, and that upon the approval of this application, I will execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor snail think fit to grant the same. — I have the honor to be, Sir, your obedient servant. Terms for which lease is required. — Fifteen years. Time of commencing operations. — Immediately on execution of lease. General remarks. — The land applied for was purchased in 1868 from Keppel and Co. by present applicants. It is the only opening for working present rights. It has been worked off and on ever since 1868. An expenditure of fully £1500, independent of purchase money, over and above returns from the land, has been made by applicants. The above application, and any objections thereto, will be heard before me at Lawrence on Wednesday, the 20th day of May, 1874.
