(From our ovm Correspondent.) Dttnedik, April 14, 7.30 p.m. Dr. Honeywell, found guilty yesterday of manslaughter, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Prior to sentence, tho prisoner said that the cause of death was rupture of the womb, which had not come out in the evidence, as his counsel had dismissed the medical witness he (prisoner) had intended to call. He should await the sentence witU full consciousness tllat tlie death. o£ Agnes Smith did not lie at his door. • His Honor recommended the prisoner to forward a memorial to the Governor, backed up by the. opinions of competent medical men, which would doubtless receive due consideration. The general opinion here is that the prisoner's sentence is much too light. Iv the case of Stephen Toomey, for robbery with violence, the jiu-y found a verdict of '• Not Guilty." By the mail to-day applications under the nominated system of immigration for 113 souls were forwarded by tho Immigration Ofiker. A shark 14 feet long was captured at tho Heads to-day. They decided that the new University Act be drafted by tiic Council embodying terms and conditions of affiliation.
