WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.
(Before E, H. Carew, Esq., Warden.) Wednesday, 13th Auqtjst. Ewen Cameron's application for an agricultural lease of sections 7, 8, and 9, block 111,, Table Hill, was adjourned fop a fortnight, to enable Mr. Miller to survey the line of water race which he haa applied for. Robert Ooghill's application fop an. agricultural lease of sections 67, 68, and 69, block VII. , Waitahuna, was objected to by Alexander Garden, Secretary to the Waitahuna Mining Association, on account of the auriferous nature of the ground. Mr. Garden appeared, and stated that since the notice of opposition had been given, he had visited the ground, and found that only a small portion waa auriferous, and that if two chains frontage were reserved along part of the river on section 68, it would suit the requirements of the miners. Granted, subject to this reservation. John Mackay's application for sections 71, 72, and 73, was objected to by Mr. Garden. The Warden said he would personally inspect the ground during the next fortnight. Charles Forsyth's application for seosections 20 and *2l, Block H., Table Hill, was objected to by — M'Cluskey as being auriferous. The Warden promised in this case also to visit the ground within a month. David Forsyth's application for section 25, block 111., Table Hill, waa refused, as the applicant wished the section to be divided. The following applications for agricultural leases were granted :— Jamea Bu* chanan, section 13, block 111., Tnapeka 'West ; Daniel Stevenson, sections 90 and 30, block VII., Tuapeka East j John Ross, sections 56 and 57, block IV., Tuapeka East ; W. G. Anderson, seotion 59, block y., Tuapeka East; James O'Brien, section 47, block IV., Tuapeka East; James Downes, section 32, block IV., Tuapeka East ; Maurice Spillane, sections 33, block IV., Tuapeka East; John Sutherland, section 43, block VII., Waitahuna East. J. T. Turner applied for an agricultural leaso of section 1, block VI , Tuapeka East, formerly held by Mr. Murray. Tha lease having expired, the Warden promised to communicate with the applicant. Robert Ross applied for residence area. Objected to by Findlay Munro, being oni mining reserve. Refused. John M'lntyre and David Reeae applied for a. head race. Granted. George Wioks complained against F. Nicoll and others for damage done to hia residence area, and claimed £20, Settled out of court* James Bailey's application for an extended claim of twoacrea waa granted. Ah Wing and others applied fur a head race, of water, which, was ordered, toatami oves for further information*
