CONFIRMATION SERVICE.

The Pight Rev. the Bishop of Dunedin was present at both services at the above church on Sunday last, and preached in the morning a very eloquent sermon on the subject of confirmation. In the evening there was a confirmation service — the church being crowded in every part, and fifteen candidates were admitted to confirmation. This service was a very solemn one — indeed we may say that confirmation of all the church services is the most impressive, and this was greatly increased by the addresses delivered by the Bishop— first to the candidates, and secondly to the congregation at large. The Bishop left for Dunedin on Monday morning, and is to sail for England tomorrow, and is to return as soon as his private affairs in England are settled — a time to be looked forward to as the Bishop's presence in this diocese is felt by all to be a bond of strength to the church, which she has long needed.
