Bran — £3 15s per ton. Pollnrd — £4 per ton. Chaff— £4 per ton. Hay — £4 per ton. Potatoes — £3 per ton. Carrots— £2 10s. Turnips— £2 10s. Wheat— 4s 9d to 5s per bushel. Barley — 2s 9d to 3s 3d per bushel. Oats — 2s 4d to 2s 6d per bushel. Butter— 7d to 9d per lb. Cheese — 6d to 8d per lb. Bacon and Hams - 9d per lb. Messrs Wright Stephekson, and Co., report, for the week ending 13th May as follows : — Fat Cattle — About 35 head, mostly of good quality were yarded, and sold at prices equal to 20s per lOOlbs for prime, and 15s to 17s for middling quality. Fat Sheep — The supply this week was rather a full one, about 3500 ewes and wethers having been penned. About 500 went to the trade, 2000 to the Meat Preserving Company, and the balance were turned out. Ewes, good quality, brought from 4s 6d to 5s 6d each ; wethers, middling do, 6s each. We quote prime quality mutton If d to 2d per lb ; middling do, at little over store rates. Store Cattle — No transactions. Store Sheep — We have buyers for all descriptions of store sheep, of which Very few are offering. We quote 4, 6, and 8 tooth Merino iwethers at 4s 6d each ; mixed do lambs, 3s 9d each ; half-bred do, 5s each. Station Property — The Waipahi station and stock, consisting of 34,000 acres grazing country, 115 acres freehold land, 10,500 mixed sheep,. s3oo do lambs, 150 head of cattle, with the usual improvements, have been sold privately to W. A. Tolraie, Esq., at a satisfactory price. Horses There is no change to note, the demand continuing good for the better
sorts- of young draughts and upstanding saddle and lisht_harness_hprseß, ...^ Of. .this, stamp the" supply, however, is very small, and the market is drugged with light and inferior stock. We quote first-class draughts L45 to LSO ; middling do, L27 to L3O ; good hacks and light harness horses, Lls to L2O ; middling do, LlO to Ll3 ; light and inferior, L3 to L6. Grain — Wheat of good quality is wanted , and saleable at 5s per bushel. Oats are in full supply. Feed may be quoted at 2s 3d to 2s 4d, milling, 2s 6d per bushel. Barley — Good samples of malting are in request, and command 3s 9d to 4s per bushel. Feed is worth 2s to 2s 6d per bushel. Melbourne, May 5. ' Flour has advanced ; trade Rales have been effected at Lls 10s to Ll6. Port M'Donnell wheat is at 5s lid to 7s Jd, and New Zealand at 6s to 6s 6d. Speoulntive purchases have been made in oate. 20,000 bushels, including 3500 bushels of New Zenland, changed hands yesterday at 3s 3d to 3s 6£d Adelaide. Flour is at L 3 10s. Wheat is firm at 5s lOd.
