Dunedin, May 17. The business of the Mining Confereuc3 to-day, was confined to a discussion on the Groldfields Act, 1866. Mr. Grisborne writes denying that the million and a quarter loan negotiated by Yogel is an Imperial Grovermnent loan. He says it was raised solely under tbe Public Works Act. Mr. Martin, shipowner, Wellington, sues the " Evening Post " for libel — damages LIOOO. The "Advertiser" also brings an action for libel against the " Post," the damages claimed being LSOO.
