A CORRECTION.

(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Times.)

Sia, — I see in your isgue of Saturday last a statement made by yonr mining correspondent to the effect that the blast of the Great Extended Co. failed to explode at the proper time, on account of til© fuso not being properly spliced. Your correspondent ha 3 been misinformed, as the splicing wa3 perfectly good, and the cause of the miss-tiro waa bad fuse. We U3sd donblo fiwe, and one length burnt past the spliced part, and tho fire in the other length died out about three feet before reaching the spliced portion. We cut off a piece of the unburnt bad fuse and lighted the remainder, which exploded the blast. By inserting the above you will oblige .Yours, &c, J. Hutchison, . Pro Great Extended Co. ■ Blue Spur, August 9th.
