This meeting, which closei the racing * fixtures in the Province for the. season, .^y was run off here on Wednesday and I Thursday. The sports were good, but "the attendance limited. There was, however, a fair sprinkling of the Dune* dfa sporting gents, who nearly monopolised the betting on events. Stewards :— Thomas Lewis, Esq., R. W.'CapstiotvEsqvJ. Macfarlane, Esq., T. The course was. heavy on account of late rain. This* however, suited' some of their "poor feet," and gave the mud larks a! fair chdncel > . < > ■ The ball was set -in motion by a large field facing the starter for the Maiden Plate, which ended in Welcome cantering in, hands down, to the astonishment of the backers of Yetminater, who started a"hotun." .. ;
