R.S.A. Has Helped.
Dear Sir, —-Allow me, as an Imperial man for some years and a member of the Christchurch R.S.A., to refer to the letter of Mr Ricalton in Saturday’s issue. First, I will state the Diggers’ R.S.A. is under no obligation to the Imperial man, but through the generosity and goodwill of the R.S.A. the Imperial man is accepted as a member with the same advantages in the club as the Digger. Also, the Imperial man, member or otherwise, practically receives the same benefits in case of need as the Digger in the form, not only of subsidised work (which is still available), but also in the rations of meat, potatoes, etc., the association have available. In addition, he receives coupons for meat and provisions. I take it the Imperial man should be the last in the country to criticise the work of New Zealand s R.S.A., which is helping thousands of Imperial men in this country in distress. Personally, I should advise Mr Ricalton to take the beam out of his own eye before he tries to take the mote out of the eye of the Christchurch R.S.A., whose assistance has been a Godsend to so many Imperial men in distress.—l am, etc., IMPERIAL.
