ORPHANAGE AUXILIARY.

The annual meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies’ Orphanage Auxiliary xvas held on Monday afternoon in the Presbyterian Bookroom. when there was a good attendance of ladies renresent'ni the x-arious guilds and churches. The Rev J. Lawson Robinson, conx'ener of the Presbyterian Social SerxMce Association. presided. In opening the meeting he thanked the ladies for the important part they had plaved in the progress of the year. The xx'ork for the children needed particularly the ser-x-ice that women alone could gix'e. The superintendent, Mr V. French, also expressed appreciation of the X'aluable assistance given by the Ladies’ Committee. During the year the Bovs’ Home at Blieh’s Bead and the Girl’s Home. Merix-ale, had both been improved and enlarged to meet the growing needs, and it would appear that in the future the opportunities for service by the ladies would considerably increase Mrs M. Fulton, secretary of the auxiliary, read the annual renort. which covered the work of an actix'e year. Mrs J. T Royds was re-elected president, and an exeeutix-e committee consisting of Mrs Murray Jackson. Mrs Jessie MacKav end Mrs J. O. Herdman was appointed to consider the programme and activities for the year. It was reported that the new xving at the Girls’ Home was. nearing comnletinn and the question of furnishing the additional rooms would soon arise
