Ambitious Sumner Plan for Beach Improvements. A challenge has been issued to Timaru and New Brighton by Sumner shopkeepers with a proposal to raise £30,000 for beach improvements. The matter came before the Sumner Borough Council at its meeting last evening in the form of a petition presented on behalf of 20 shopkeepers in the district. The council decided to ask a deputation to wait on it.
