The weekly stock sale at the Ashburton Kaleyards to-day was conducted in rain, but there was a fair attendance of buyers. Quality and prices were about the same as at Tinwald last Tuesdav. Cochrane Bros. (Elgin) were the most successful vendors of ewes this morning, receiving 21s 4d for five (maiden) and 15s Id for three. J. Gibson (Mount Hutt) got 13s 4d for seven; J. Bonifant (Wakanui). 13s Id for seventeen, 12s 7d for ten, 12s 4d for six and 12s Id for sixteen. One on account of F. G. Evans (Ashburton Forks) fetched 12s 9d. Other nrime ewes ranged from 10s 4d to Us lOd; medium sorts from 9s 4d to 9s lOd; and light-weights sold at 6s 4d. Sales, on account of a client, in the wether pens this morning included 27 at 20s 7d. 12 at 20s Id and 2 at ISs «d; and sales of lambs were: One each at 19s 3d. 18s 3d and 14s.
