THE LEAGUE GAME.
Code Now in Satisfactory Position. The statement that the Canterbury Rugby League was now in a satisfactory financial position was made by Mr W. S. E. Moyle, who presided at the meeting of the Management Committee last evening. After years of struggle and sacrifice the League was now free of debt, and was facing the future with confidence. The Addington Club's challenges for the Thacker Shield and Gore Cup were referred to the West Coast League. At a meeting of the Junior Advisory Board it was decided to declare the fourth, fifth and sixth grade competitions closed, the winners being as follows: Fourth grade, Linwood; fifth grade, Linwood; and sixth grade, St Joseph’s. It was decided to extend congratulation to the Canterbury Hockey Association on the fact that three of its players had been selected to play for New Zealand against the All-India team. Matches for Saturday. The draw for Saturday was approved as follows: Senior grade—Addington v. Hornby, Sydenham Park, 2.45 p.m. (referee, Mr G. Fa 1 gar; lino-umpires, Messrs A. Bench and G. Underwood); New Brighton v. Linwood, Rawhiti Domain, 2.45 p.m. (Mr C. Taylor); Rui'u v. Sydenham, Spreydon Park No. 1, 2.45 (Mr B. Stapley) ; Waimairi a bye. Second grade—Ruru v.
