OBITUARY.
R. M. Tolhurst.—The death occurred at Auckland or. Wednesday of Mr Robert Molesworth Tolhurst, of Remuera. Mr Tolhurst, who was the son of the late Mr G. E. Tolhurst, formerly chief inspector of the Union Bank of Australia at Wellington, was born at Toorak, Melbourne, and came to the Dominion as an infant. After being educated at Christ’s College and graduating from Canterbury College as a bachelor of laws, he practised as a barrister and solicitor in Wellington, Taranaki and Opptiki. During the Great War Mr Tolhurst was on active service for four years. Shortly after returning from overseas he retired and had since lived in Auckland. For many years he was a vice-president of the Auckland Ladies’ Benevolent Society, to which he devoted much time in giving legal services. Mr Tolhurst was a keen golfer, and for a long time a member of the Maungakiekie Golf Club. Mr Tolhurst married Miss Kate Nelson, the second daughter of the late Canon Nelson, and a niere of Sir James Coates, lie is survived by his widow and a daughter, Miss Josephine Tolhurst.
