THE NEW "STAR.”

An Outstanding Evening Newspaper. JOURNAL OF WIDE APPEAL. The distinctive features that have made both the “ Christchurch Star ” and the “ Christchurch Times ” so popular in the past are to be continued in the new “ Star,” which, in future, will be the sole evening paper of Christchurch. An important matter to be remembered is that the insurance benefits enjoyed by readers of the “Times” will be available to them as readers of the new “ Star,” which in future will carry the benefits in this respect heretofore provided by the “ Times ” and “ Star ” separately. All that readers of the “ Times ” have to do to ensure continuity of this generous insurance protection is to become registered readers of the new “ Star ” immediately. The “ New Zealand Junior,” as well as the popular comic coloured supplement, and the other distinctive features of the “Times” and “Star” will find a place in future in the new publication, which from this point of view alone will give the most comprehensive service in New Zealand. Businessmen will find, in its commercial pages, an up-to-date and authoritative business guide; the attention given to the feminine side in fashions, cookery, home furnishing and social activities will be on a scale that will commend the publication to all women, and the new and enlarged sporting and athletic section will give Christchurch a service in this respect that will mark a new departure. To meet the many needs that it will endeavour to cater to. the “ Star ” will be considerably enlarged, and this, combined with its new typographical arrangement, will make it one of the outstanding evening newspapers in the Empire.
