N.Z. HARRIER TEAM.
Question of Australian Visit Discussed. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association a letter was received from the Amateur Athletic Union of Australia expressing pleasure at the fact that it had been decided to send a New Zealand harrier team to Australia. The letter added that it was extremely doubtful if the Victorian Association would be willing to pay the travelling expenses of the New Zealand team between Sydney and Melbourne. The secretary. Mr H. McCormick, said he regarded the letter as rather unsatisfactory. It appeared as if the events in which the New Zealand team would compete would be confined to New South Wales, including the Australian cross-country championships on August 17. The council was still without an assurance that the Australian Union would be prepared to billet the team, and he had sent a cable asking for definite confirmation that accommodation would be provided. It was decided that the appointment of selectors be left to the administration committee and that the question of the managership be left over until the next meeting.
