UNEMPLOYED WORKERS.
Mr A. E. Armstrong Elected President. It was reported at the annual meet,of . t,ie Canterbury Unemployed Workers Association last night (hat a total of £3S4 6s Sd had been collected during the year. This sum included money for the New Brighton anti-camp fund and the relief workers’ children's picnic. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Metropolitan Relief Association, urging the adoption of the coupon system of giving relief. Arrangements were made for the visit of Mr Gerald Griffin, national secretary of the New Zealand Council Against War and Fascism. The election of officers resulted: President. Mr A. E. Armstrong: vice-presi-dent.. Mr J. V. Price: organiser, Mr E. W. Braithwaite: secretary, Mr C. H. Cole: executive. Mesdames A. Penny and R. McGuire and Messrs J. Gordon, C Stonyer, J. McGuire, J. McKcgney. J. 8. Wiggs, C. .Waters, J. Renwick and E. L. Hills.
