Fate of Tram Service in Worcester Street. No decision has yet been reached by the Christchurch Tramway Board concerning the fate of the tramway track in Worcester Street. Some months ago the formalities for authority to lift the ! line were completed and it was thought ; that trolley buses would be used. Now. an investigation into the value of | Diesel-engined buses is taking place and j the fate of the line is still in doubt. | In wet weather, water is thrown on both sides of the street by trams, doing j a good deal of damage to the roadway, J but it was stated to-day that permanent repairs could not be considered until a decision concerning the trams was j reached.
