AVIATION MYSTERY.

“ Murder in the Clouds ” for Crystal Palace. “ Beyond Bengal,” the thrilling jungle picture, will be shown finally to-morrow night at the Crystal Palace Theatre. A first-class supporting programme includes a film of the Boy Scout jamboree in Australia and items by the Elaine Moody Hawaiian trio (evenings only). “ Murder in the Clouds,” which will head* the new programme at the Crystal Palace Theatre on Friday, is reported to be the most thrilling aviation picture to come from a Hollywood studio. In this production daring flyers perform barrel rolls, Immelmans, rolls on loop-tops, wing-overs, fish tails and other death-defying stunts. These stunts are not just sandwiched into the film, however, but all form a part of the stirring battles high in the air. “ Murder in the Clouds ” is a baffling mystery thriller in which a band of international spies stop at nothing to steal a chemical formula for a high explosive which the United States Government is sending by plane from the West Coast to the War Department in Washington. Thrill follows thrill in the subsequent battles of army planes with the fleeing robbers in which planes are shot to the ground and airmen are seen leaving their flaming ships. The picture also features a delightful romance in which two air pilots fight for the love of an air hostess. Lyle Talbot has the principal role, that of a daredevil pilot who eventually is instrumental in defeating the band of conspirators. Ann Dvorak is charming as the pretty hostess who is kidnapped by a suitor who really belongs to the band of spies. Gordon W r estcott forms the third side of the romantic triangle, and gives an excellent performance as a dastardly villain in league with the band of conspirators. Box plans at the D.I.C.
