LEVEL CROSSING SMASH.

Man Killed When Express Hits Trap. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, May 14. A collision between a trap he was driving and the Napier-Wellington express at Hastings railway crossing this evening, resulted in the death of Royal Lee. a chimney-sweep. The horse which Lee was driving could not be restrained when the engine approached the crossing and it was in the centre of the line when the collision occurred.

Lee was killed immediately, together with the horse.
