HOCKEY DANCE.
Methven Club Entertains. Following a special series of matches in the afternoon, the Methven Women s Hockey Club held a successful dance at which they entertained the members of the visiting teams from Christchurch. There was a large attendance, including many visitors, and the spacious floor of the Town Hall was fully taxed. Music was provided by Cook’s orchestra, and extras were contributed by Miss Ida Petrie, Messrs Chas. Petrie and J. Cretney. Mr W. Grieve was M.C. An interesting competition was won by Mr L. Gilley. On behalf of the visiting teams Mr Eric Rhind expressed the thanks to the Methven Club for the successful day’s sport and the evening gathering. Among those present were:—Meadames H. S. Ayers, C. V.
