“CLINICAL DEATH.”

Patients Who Live, But Are Dead. Special—By Air Mail. LONDON, April 20. Medical science has invented a new name for death. It is: Clinical Death. Clinical death occurs when heart and breathing stop, as in the case of John Puckering and others, who were revived. Actual death is now proved to take place from six to twenty minutes after clinical death. The “ British Medical Journal ” describes the investigations of the French scientists, Laubrv and Degos. They recorded electrically the heart movements of five dying men and women and found them continuing from six to twenty minutes after “ clinical death.” Adrenaline injections afterwards restarted the heart for brief periods but failed to restore life.
