RAILWAY PORTER HURT.

Leg Crushed in Shunting Accident. Air V. Willyams, a railway porter residing in Grafton Street, Linwood, had his left leg crushed above the knee during shunting operations at the Christchurch Railway Station shortly after 11.30 o’clock last evening. Mr W T illyams was crushed between two carriages. He was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital. His condition is reported to be satisfactory. A fractured toe on the left foot was suffered by Air R. Chignell, of Salisbury Street, when an iron casting fell on his foot. He was treated as an outpatient and discharged.
