MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB.

The newly-formed Miniature Rifle Club at Rakaia was opened by Mr J. F. Langley on Monday evening. Mr Langley fired the first shot and wished the club every success. With a number of experienced shots and some promising members the club should have a strong team before the season is over. The young ladies of the Rakaia Methodist Church met at the residence of Mr H. Hopwood to bid farewell to Miss Bowden who is leaving to be married. The gathering took the form of a gift evening and many useful gifts were presented to the guest of the evening. The Bible Class girls presented the guest with a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and pink sweet peas. Games and competitions were enjoyed.
