BOWLING.
Easter Tournament Opened. THREE ROUNDS DECIDED. The first three rounds of the Christchurch Bowling: Centre’s Easter rinks were decided yesterday on five greens. The entries numbered fifty-two, compared with the record of sixty-six rinks last year. The lateness of Easter this year probably has reduced the entries. There were several surprises in the first day’s play, a feature of which, was the poor showing of the West End (Tirrvaru) rink which won the tournament last year. T. Currie was skip again, but the rink failed to win any of the three games. Seven rinks came through the day without a loss. They were skipped by the following:—A. B. Young (R.S.A.), W. Craw (Canterbury), R. M’Kinley (Canterbury), H. H. Barlow (Sumner), D. H. Drummond (Sydenham), E. Orchard (Riccarton Racecourse) and H. Wilson (Linwood).
