OBITUARY.
Hugh M. Douglas. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 25. The death occurred at his residence, 149, Moxham Avenue, Wellington, on Sunday, of Mr Hugh M. Douglas, secretary and manager of the Working Men’s Club tor the past fourteen years. Mr Douglas was born at Dunedin on March 19, 1874, and came to Wellington thirty-four years ago. He was the inventor of the Douglas loose-leaf ledger, now in general use. He was a member of the Wellington Trotting Club and of the Hataitai and Eastbourne Bowling Clubs. He was also a good chess and draughts player. William Henry Jones. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 25. The death has occurred of Mr William Henry Jones, aged seventy-four. Mr Jones joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland when a young man. He was later transferred to the head office, Wellington, and was on the inspecting staff when he retired. He took a keen interest in the Territorials, amateur athletic, boxing and Freemasonry.
