STATE OF WAR IN CUBA.

HAVANA. March 11. A state of war was declared throughout Cuba to-day. A general revolutionary strike threatened the country on Sunday night as additional unions answered the call for a walkout by midnight. Bombs exploded downtown in Havana and rifle fire added two deaths to the toll of four dead and eight wounded in the Saturday night outbreak, which was the wildest since the 1933 revolution. The constitution was suspended and President Mendieta empowered to dictate any measures necessary to protect the public. The powerful union of railroad workers on the main lines between Havana and Santiago have joined the strike.
