RICHES TO POVERTY.
Former Husband of Princess Now a Porter. PARIS, March 11. A French journalist recognised in a Luxembourg cafe M. Alexander Zoubkoff, despite his shabby clothes and two days’ growth of beard. M. Zoubkoff jumped into fame a few years ago by marrying Princess Victoria of Hohenzollern. He is now working as a luggage porter. M. Zoubkoff said, “I once spent £15,000 a year here and used to give £3 tips. Now I can hardly wait for Fridays, when theatrical companies move, to help with their luggage. I manage to get only one meal a day. I am unable to get a permit to live in France, Germany, Belgium or Italy. They all politely tell me to go somewhere else.” Princess Friederike Amalie Wil helmine Victoria, of Prussia, was a sister of the former Kaiser (Wilhelm II) of Germany. She was born in 1866, and was married to Prince Adolf Wilhelm Victor of Schaumberg-Lippe, who died in 1916. She was married again in 1827, to Alexander Zoubkoff, but the marriage was dissolved before her death in 1929.
