“ There are many elderly people who do not use the trams because of the fact that the doors open on to the middle of the road,” said a member of the Upper Riccarton Burgesses’ Association at a meeting last night. It was decided to write to the Tramway Board pointing out the danger and asking that some action should be taken to ensure the safety of passengers.
