Mr William Fox Loses Long Legal Battle. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON. March 4. Mr William Fox's long legal fight to regain the dominant position in the motion picture industry failed to-day when the Supreme Court ruled that the basis of the patents he held for the so-called triergon process of sound recording was invalid, as v every one of the major film producers used the process. Victory would have brought Mr Fox up to 100,000,000 dollars of back royalties from Paramount and other producers he was suing.
