BOOKMAKING CASE.
Various Charges Heard at Palmerston North. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON N.. This Day. A fine of £SO was imposed on Norman Arnold Dalzell. a barman, in the Magistrate's Court on a charge of bookmaking. Arthur Lawrence, a labourer, John William Marshall, an agent, and William Fitzgerald, an engine-driver, were each fined £2O o* charges of frequenting a street for the purpose of betting. William Charles Healey, a relief worker, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon on a charge of publicly exhibiting a document which contained notification as to betting on races at the Woodville meeting.
