Time —smin 24 4-5 sec. Second heat: N. Crump (Auckland) 1, R. Watkins (Canterbury) 2, W. Johnson (Auckland) 3. Also started: P. M’Rae (South Auckland) and P. 11. M’Grath (Southland). Won by two yards, three yards between second and third. Time—smin 27sec. Thirds are excluded from the final. Women’s 100yds—First heat: S. Grange (Auckland) 1, M. Levdon (Auckland; 1934 champion) 2, N. Ludlow (Auckland) 3. Also started: P. Sporle (Manawatu). Won by half a yard, a touch separating second and third. Time—6B 4-ssec. Second heat: E. Rainey (Auckland) 1, N. Basstian (Southland) 2, N. Hughes (Canterbury) 3. Also started: V. Colthurst (Auckland). Won by a foot, half a yard between second and third. Time —6Bsec. Auckland have already scored enough points to retain the Yaldhurst Shield.
