School Admission Age.

Per Press Association. NELSON, This Day. 'J'HE Nelson Education Board has decided to renew its representations regarding the readmission of five-year-old children to the public schools. The question of the desirability of inspectors’ general reports on school teachers being submitted to school committees was discussed by the board. It was pointed out that frequently those reports gave a different impression than that given by confidential reports submitted to the board and members expressed the opinion that reports to committees should contain reference only to matters directly controlled by the committees. The chairman (the Hon W. H. M’lntyre) and the secretary were appointed to interview the Minister. In reply to representations by the board the Minister stated that the proposed amended regulations would include provisions under which any child of fourteen years who was about to leave school would be given an opportunity of sitting for the proficiency examination.
