POPULAR CARNIVAL.
Swimming Events at Beckenham. The recent night carnival held in the Beckenham baths proved the popularity of the installation of lights for night bathing, as a large crowd of residents gathered to enjoy the programme. The events were keenly contested. Amusement was caused by Miss M’Wackle, who gave exhibitions of how not to dive and swim. These exhibitions were greatly applauded. Results were:— 25yds Junior Boys' Handicap—First heat: A. Duder 1, G. Wakelin 2. Second heat: C Dann 1, R. Crimp 2. Final: B. Maise 1, C. Dann 2. - 25yds Junior Girls' Handicap—First heat: L. Thompson 1, B. Taylor 2. Second heat: M. Mason 1, L. Cook 2. Third heat: L. Tillman 1, G. Stevenson 2. Final: L. Tillman 1, M. Mason 2. 50yds Intermediate Bovs’ Handicap— First heat: G. Eddington 1, R. Kilworth 2. Second heat: C. Averis 1, J. Jarman 2. Third heat: P. O’Connor 1, A. Terry 2. Final: C. Averis 1, R. Kilworth 2. 50yds Senior Men’s Handicap—First heat: J. Harvey 1, E. Dann 2. Second heat: G. Coombes 1, C. Dann 2. Final: G. Coombes 1, J. Harvey 2. Men’s Dive—G. Eddington 1, H. Heath Women’s Dive—M. Jones 1, L. Wakelin 2.
