WOMAN’S BODY FOUND.
Discovery in Remote Country District. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, This Day. Medical examination has proved that the decomposed female body which was found in an isolated creek was that of a white woman. It is likely that the body had been in the water some two or three weeks. It was clothed in a red-coloured dress of light material, brown silk stockings, two linen petticoats and black shoes with single cross strap. The woman was five feet four inches in height, of stocky build. The police appear more or less satisfied that she was a stranger to this district, and most certainly did not belong to the neighbourhood in which her body was found. She evidently was about thirty years of age. The district in which the discovery was made is remote from all main and even secondary traffic roads.
