A joint meeting of the Councils of the Empire League, Empire Producers’ Organisations, Empire Union of Industries’ Association and the Empire Federation of Chambers of Commerce unanimously decided to inaugurate a Jubilee Empire Shopping Week, ending on May 25, and appealed to retailers and housewives throughout the Empire to unite in a great demonstration of the Empire’s solidarity. The High Commissioners attended the meeting.
