Count of Monte Cristo ” at Plaza. Alexandre Dumas’ classio of literature , “ The Count of Monte Cristo,” fias been made into a classic of the screen. The picture, which is now in its second week at the Plaza Theatre, provides excellent entertainment in all its phases. It is a story of tremendous scope with high adventure, thrills, the romance of period costuming colourful action and tense drama: and there is sufficient romantic quality an .. cor nedy to give it the necessarv relief As the Count, Robert Donat establishes his claim to stardom with a performance that is always impressive and he is supported by a strong company headed by that fine actress Elissa “ The Count of Monte can be recommended as thoroughly entertaining. A good programme of “ shorts ” is also screened.
