PAVILION LEASED.
North Brighton School Committee Meeting. The monthly meeting of the North Brighton School Committee was held at the school on Tuesday; present— Messrs Florance (chairman), Henry, Mahan, Margetts, Marriott, Norrie, Sands, Wilkins and Freeborn. Mr Colville (head master) was also present. The head master’s report stated that Mr Hooker had been transferred to Sefton, and his position would be filled by Mr L. Hayward, who would? not, however, take up his duties until March, owing to being engaged relieving elsewhere till that date. Regret at the loss of Mr Hooker’s services was expressed, and it was resolved to send him a letter of thanks and appreciation for his work while at the school. The North Beach tennis pavilion has again been leased by the Education Board, and this will be occupied by pupils under the charge of Miss Flewellyn. The chairman extended congratulations to the head master and staff on the excellent report from the inspector for the past year. The chairman ajid secretary reported that arrangements were well in hand for the school picnic, to be held at Corsair Bay on Wednesday. February 20. Messrs Henry and Mahan were appointed a visiting committee for the month.
