Driver of Car That Fell Over Bank. , TWO COMPANIONS INJURED. Per Press Association. THAMES, This Day. As the result of a car going over a bank about midnight about nine miles from Whitianga. Robert Stanley Robertson. a traveller for Messrs John Reid and Co., Auckland, aged 45 years, a married man with four children, the driver of the car, was killed instantly. Two companions were injured and were taken to hospital at Mercury Bay—Leslie Jolly, of Cromwell, a married man. condition serious, and Allred Wilson, licensee of the Tapu Hotel, married, condition serious. The car was proceeding from Coromandel to Whitianga. and it is believed that the bank gave way and the car rolled over into the creek below. All the occupants were in the water. The driver, Robertson, was killed in and the body was removed to W hitianga. where the injured were admitted to hospital.
