PLAN TO SELL SHIPS.
Canadian Government’s Proposal. United Press Assn.—By Klee trie Telegraph—C 3py right. (Received January 11, 3 p.m.) TORONTO, January 10. Mr IT. H. M’Master, president of the National Association of Marine Engineers, announces that the association is demanding from the Government that ten ships of the Government Merchant Marine on the Canada-Australia route be replaced by six new ships at a cost of 30,000.000 dollars. lie said that it had been learned definitely that the Government was selling the CanadianAustralia Line to an English syndicate. This would mean that Canada would lose a trade route which has yielded 64,000,000 dollars in fourteen years.
