Webb and family, Murray Place, are staying at Lake Tekapo, following a holiday visit to the south. Mrs P. N. Quartermain has returned to the Royal Hotel, following two months’ visit to The Lodge, Hanmer Springs. Mrs Isabel Turrell, Fendalton, who is paying a visit to Wellington, will return to Christchurch on Sunday morning. Miss Paula Mackenzie, Sumner, will return to Christchurch on Sunday morning from a holiday spent with relatives in Auckland. Mr and Mrs Wilfrid Owen and family, Sumner, are spending a holiday at Hanmer Springs, where they have taken a house. Mr and Mrs R. F. Simes and their three daughters, Cashmere Hills, have returned from a camping holiday spent in the Southern Lakes district. Miss Monica Richards, Fendalton, and Miss Dorothy Robinson, Darfield, have been the guests of Miss Dorothy Leete, Cranford, Akaroa.

Mrs H. E. Turner, Holyhead, England, who has been spending some weeks in Christchurch, will go» to-day to stay with her sister, Mrs C. J. Treleaven, St Andrew’s Square. Mrs T. E. Barrer, Masterton, will visit Christchurch next week for the meetings of the Dominion Executive of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Mr and Mrs C. B. Bowie and Miss Dorothy Bowie, Mrs Alex Orr and Miss Enid Orr. who have been spending a holiday at Hanmer Springs, have returned home. Miss Janet Paterson, Timaru, arrived on Wednesday to sta} r with her uncle, Dr A. Paterson, and Mrs Paterson, Cashmere Hills, following a visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs Maurice Maefarlane, Awapuni, Waikari, arrived in Christchurch yesterday, and are the guests of Miss Nancy Gibson, Fendalton, for a few days.

Miss Queenie Morrison, of the Hobson Street Hospital, Wellington, is spending a holiday in Christchurch with her mother, Mrs W. C. Morrison, Wairarapa Terrace, Fendalton. Mrs Geoffrey Webster, Papanui, left on Wednesday evening for Wellington, en route to Halcombe, near Feilding, where she will visit her parents. She will later go on to Auckland. Mrs E. R. Howard, Avonside Drive, will leave on Monday to take up residence in Wellington. Her mother, Mrs E. L. May, and her son, who are visiting Auckland, will join her in Wellington in the near future. Mr and Mrs J. Corbett have returned to Christchurch from a holiday visit to Akaroa. Mrs George Turrell, Ataahua, is the guest of Mrs Gerald Anderson at Sumner. Mr and Mrs S. C. Naismith and their daughters are spending a holiday in Dunedin. Misses Eileen Spicer and Thelma Hepburn left last evening to spend a holiday in the North Island. Miss Nora Firth, Circuit Street, St Albans, will leave in March by the Tamaroa on a trip to England. Dr and Mrs li. G. Denham, Fendalton, will return to Christchurch this evening from Glentui. Miss Elisabeth Morris, Fendalton, has returned home from a visit to Mrs Owen Blackler, South Canterbury. Miss Margaret O’Loughlin, St Andrews, is staying at Woodlands Road, Timaru. Miss Monica M’Grath has returned from a visit to Mrs C. O’Loughlin, “ Seaview,” St Andrews. Miss Mary Geddes, Dunedin, who was the guest of Mrs C. O’Loughlin, St Andrews, is now spending a tew days at Woodlands Road, Timaru. Mr and Mrs J. A. Petre, Hamilton, returned north last night from a visit to Mr and Mrs Frank Parris, Fendalton. The Hon Alice Whiteley, Misses Mary Campbell and Nan Mellor, England, will leave Christchurch to-morrow on a tour of the Southern Lakes district. Sir Alexander and Lady Godlev, England, will go on Monday to stay with Sir R. Heaton Rhodes at “ Otahuna,” Tai Tapu.

Mr and Mrs A. W. Smithson have returned to Christchurch from Akaroa, where they were guests at the Hotel Metropole. Miss Gwen Wilkins, Dunedin, and Misses Winnie and Molly Waller, Cashmere, have been visiting Mrs R. D. Waller, Akaroa. Miss C. K. Wilson, King Country, will be the guest of Mrs J. Acland, Park Terrace, have returned from a holiday spent at Mount Peel. Mr Acland’s sister, Mrs Walter Empson, England, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow to stay with them. Miss Dundas, Scotland, who has been staying at Warwick House for some months, left to-day on a visit to Hanmer Springs. Next week she will go to the Franz Josef Glacier, accompanied bv Colonel and Mrs H. J. P. Browne. England. Miss T. E. Rogers, who has acted as buyer for the china department at the D.T.C., Christchurch, has joined the staff of Messrs Beatli and Co. Ltd. She will leave Auckland on Friday.
