Dear Sir, —In your issue of Saturd there is an article by Mr A. Selwyn Bri referring to Mr John Collier in which gives him the credit for making the fi baker’s oven in Lyttelton. Mr Bruce I evidently not read that most interest! book. 44 Colonial Experiences,” which I i sure he would be able to obtain at t Public Library. I would refer him to t latter part of chapter 9, page 196. afl reading which I feel sure that, he will gi the author the credit not only for havi the first baker’s oven, but also for havi the first shop for the sale of general sto i in Canterbury.—l am. etc..
