Lord Chief Justice Changes Wedding Lines. UNCEREMONIOUS MARRIAGE. MELBOURNE, January 2. When the bride of the Lord Chief Justice of England (Lord Hewart) omitted at her wedding the word “obey” and Lord Hewart said “My worldly goods with thee I share ” instead of “ endow’ ” they altered the Church of England marriage service to > please themselves. Discussing the marriage service of the Church of England.
