Further Disturbances in the Saar. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ' LONDON, January 2. Rival factions fought a revolver battle in the street at Ensdorf, in the Saar, resulting in twenty’-three casualties; and three men w r ere injured in a similar fracas at Eberhahn. The Saarbrucken correspondent of "The Times” says:—“Despite earlier friendly celebrations. 1935 opened with shooting brawls. Six native police, joining in the festivities, were roughly handled, whereupon they arrested several anti-Nazis. The police were subsequently suspended for allowing party prejudice to interfere with duty’. “Elsewhere, a mob, suspected to be German Fronters, fired revolvers at the windows of a house, wounding a French engineer’s wife. The special police have taken measures which are expected to prevent a recurrence of the trouble.”
