Misses Poole Adopt New Tennis Costume.

The first Canterbury women players to make their appearance in shorts on Wilding Park are Misses Irene and Thelma Poole, of the Cathedral Club. The sisters, who hold the Canterbury women’s doubles title, play regularly in the A grade competition. To-day they attracted even more notice than usual by going on to the courts in neat pleated shorts. Both girls are I well-built—and what i.s more, they have I a game that helps to carry off any innovation they introduce. 1 Several A grade men players to-day ] also adopted the new style.
