British Official Wireless. RUGBY, December 5. Considerable progress is being made with the .slum clearance problem. The number of houses in clearance and improvement areas which are to be demolished is 73.046. Up to September 30 this year, for the six months ended on that date, the number demolished was 23,434. The number of persons to be displaced as a result of demolitions is 325,809. The number of houses comj pletecl for the rehousing of persons who have been displaced was 26,926 at September 30 and at that date there were 19,301 houses under construction.
