RADIO ON SMALL SHIPS.
CANBERRA, December 6. The Minister of Commerce (Dr Page t announced in the House of Representatives that the Government would compel small vessels not equipped with wireless to carry automatic devices, which would be part of their life-saving equipment, enabling them to send out messages in case of dis tress. About twenty small steamers would be affected.
