Australian Boy is New Star. INTER-STATE MATCHES. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph-—Copyright. MELBOURNE, December 6. The triangular inter-State lawn tennis matches, which began yesterday, were continued to-day. Scores are as follows: J. Bromwich (New South ’Wales), who was unknown in Victoria two days ago and who defeated 11. C. Hopman yesterday, is now the star of the matches. To-day he defeated D. P. Turnbull, 6-1, 6-4, by masterful tactics. Turnbull was playing as well as when he beat J. 11. Crawford yesterday, but Bromwich sent back his best returns accurately*. Turnbull’s net attacks were unavailing. Crawford defeated A. Quist, 6-4, 7-5, winning by spectacular backhand passing shots. New South Wales v.
