AN INVESTIGATION.
Decision of Associated Chambers. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 6. It was reported to a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce to-day that questions relating to the proposed National Mortgage Corporation, for which the Government proposed to legislate on the resumption of the session, were the subject of investigation by a sub-com-mittee, and that all information possible was being obtained and the opinions of different interests were being secured in order that the commercial viewpoint might be crystallised before Parliament met. Further inquiries had been made in connection with the Auckland suggestion for a diversion of Homewai d vessels via the East, so as to establish a shipping connection. It appeared that there were practical difficulties in the way, but the Overseas Shipowners’ Committee were referring the matter to the shipping companies in London lor further advice. It w*as decided that when the Executive Commission of Agriculture is set up the executive should offer its services in discussion and collaboration in the selection of overseas trade representatives.
